Some briefs arrive with a built-in tension. This one asked for a visual world that could speak to three very different audiences simultaneously: healthcare professionals, parents, and young people aged 10 to 13, around one of the more sensitive transitions in adolescent healthcare. Clinical would lose the kids. Too playful would lose the professionals. Too soft and it wouldn't land with anyone. Developed in close collaboration with Newfinal around the concept "I got this", the work needed to hold all of that without showing the effort. Approachable enough to feel safe. Cool enough to actually resonate with a 12-year-old. Confident enough to carry a healthcare campaign.



The visual language was built around a particular kind of confidence; relaxed, self-assured, age-appropriate. Soft and sharp forms sit alongside each other, perspectives are pushed slightly beyond the expected, and a quietly fantastical quality runs through the whole set. The result is a world that feels dynamic without being chaotic, imaginative without losing credibility.
Character poses and expressions were the starting point. Getting those right early meant every other decision had something to anchor to; composition, colour, the amount of energy in a given scene. The illustrations carry that energy throughout, but always in service of the same feeling: a young person who has this handled.
