A growing and serious issue in the Danish healthcare system is the increase in threats and violence against emergency personnel. We helped Region Hovedstadens Akutberedskab address this challenge through visual storytelling, combining animation with a bespoke illustration style.
The goal was two-sided: to create awareness and drive behavioural change among the public, and to support frontline staff in recognising, documenting, and reporting abusive behaviour.
We created a series of short campaign videos, accompanied by posters and digital illustrations, that make otherwise overlooked and accepted moments of aggression visible, clear, and actionable.
To support the campaign videos, we created posters that act as a constant presence in the workplace. Using a clear visual language aligned with the animations, they reinforce the message and encourage staff to recognise, report, and speak up about both physical and verbal abuse.

To support the storytelling across different scenarios, we built character rigs designed for a wide emotional range. This allowed us to move seamlessly between subtle reactions and more intense situations, depending on the narrative needs of each scene.
While the character designs are stylized, we kept the uniforms strictly accurate to real-life emergency roles. This ensured immediate recognition of each function and maintained a strong connection to reality. The combination of flexible rigs and grounded visual details gave us the control needed to portray both everyday interactions and high-pressure moments in a consistent, believable way across the campaign videos.
