In 'The Wanderers,' a short story ignited by the pandemic, we explored an enigmatic force: 'the call of the unknown.' Our yearning for freedom grew, reshaping our habits. Amidst isolation, we dreamt of adventure and unexpected connections.
The short film was created and produced by the Benny Box team as a passion project, exploring our love for character design, immersive illustrations and frame-by-frame animation techniques.
The narrative unfolds without dialogue, relying on atmosphere, pacing, and subtle interaction to convey a sense of connection. Each moment is designed to feel open and interpretive, allowing the viewer to project their own sense of meaning onto the journey.

The project evolved from a simple starting point into a more expansive narrative, growing in both scale and ambition as the visual direction took shape.
Characters and environments were developed in parallel through iterative design, establishing a cohesive world defined by texture, color, and mood. The animation was created frame by frame giving each scene a tactile and organic quality.
